Today we are going to add some torn up pages from a book to our Journals! The BEST way to make something seem like it has just become a part of your base paper is Gel Medium! The key is to make sure it is VERY DRY before doing other stuff to it or you paper will come up:
I put it on the back, generously and then adhere it to the base page in my journal and add a generous amount over it:
Next I took my yellow acrylic paint and painted over the whole thing but wiped off as I went, so it wouldn't cover the text.
Went around the edges same way with the orange:
And the very edges with the red: I put it directly on my paper towel and wiped as I went:
This will make the pages seem like they are part of your paper. I wanted to add a little black ink to pop those torn edges of text paper:
Next, I stamped:
Then I noticed the WHITE paper down the center (the only think I HATE about these spiral bounds!) So I got out my color mist and put some paper towels underneath each page by the holes to prevent leakage:
Tada:
Now that the background is how I wanted it, I'm ready to stamp my verse and images:
I put the verse on paper so it would stand out. I could do the gel medium if I wanted it to seem part of the paper, but I actually want it to pop a bit, so I just use tape adhesive. But first it's WAY TO WHITE! I inked with my sponge dauber (you could use paint around the edges if you don't have stamp pads):
Next I attached the verse, and wrote out my journaling, and used my Signo white pigment pen to fill in the letters:
The colors are way more vibrant in real life, but I am calling this page done for now! Tomorrow we'll have another technique to try!
Let me know how you are liking the tutorials! It's so nice to hear from you!
May God bless your ART...and your heart,
Antoinette
