My first still Life Oil Painting!

Hello friends!
It has been a while since I updated this blog and I have so much to share, but for today I thought I would share my first finished oil painting. I can see things I want to go back and tweak on this even now, but need to move on. I have been taking oil painting for about 6 weeks now but the first 4 weeks were spent making the paints (N9-N0)...whew! What a job that is! But it is nice now to have all the different variations of black and white ready at your fingertips when you are painting. This is the most relaxing medium I've worked with (I have done clay, paper, acrylic, mixed media...this one is definitely one to go to when stressed!!).

With all the illustrating I do for my wonderful 'day job' (Inspired Stamps), it is an absolute treat to get to do something artistic that is so relaxing on the side.

God Bless America Card with Scenic View ...

Altered 9 drawer set

Hello friends!

Here's another altered art project I created this week for my studio! You have to put this together (It's called Beyond The Page MDF Storage Drawers) and then you can decorate it to fit your style. I used acrylic paints, distressing inks, CTMH brads, and inspired stamps (Psalm 91 Protection and Names of Jesus). Here's a few views of what I came up with:

canvas art: copic mixed media art class

I had the best time in June at Copic's Ink and Art class in Indianapolis!! This is a canvas I made to express the feelings I had when my dad died this past January and how I had to rely on God to make it through. LOVED this class!! Hello friends!!
I have gone through and cleaned house, so to speak on this blog!! Those of you who have been with me for the couple of years I've had this blog are probably asking..."WHERE did all her posts go???"

I wanted to start fresh, with a clean new re-purposed look for this blog. I wanted a place that I can post for challenges, a place where I can host challenges, and a place to showcase favorite things!
